Erwin is a senior executive consultant with over 40 years of experience in International Management Communications & EU Affairs. After graduating in PR & Communications from IHNUS, a private para-University High School, in 1971, Erwin has worked for more than 20 years as a Director of Public Relations for multinational companies such as Polaroid, McCann, Ericson, Goodyear, CSC Europe, Burson-Marsteller and Hill & Knowlton.

In 1994 Erwin created his own communications consultancy firm serving to satisfaction of his clients in industry sectors such as automotive, agro-bio-tech, audiovisual, aviation, banking & finance, chemicals, defense and aerospace, fashion, food & beverages, health care & pharma, IT, interest groups & trade associations, medical, services, sports & entertainment, tourism and transport. He and his team also worked for Governments and public authorities in EU member states and for the European Commission.

Erwin De Weerdt is an accredited member of the European Press Federation (EPF) and the International Press Federation (IPF). He is a long-standing and respected member of the Association of Belgian “automotive” journalists (AJBA). In this capacity, he is responsible for the “auto section” in “CxO”, a business magazine for business leaders and decision makers.

As a former VP of the European PR Confederation (CERP) and former President of the Belgian Public Relations Centre (BPRC), in charge of the relationship with the EU, he is bound by the PR Codes of Athens and Lisbon, which rule the conduct and ethical behavior of PR professionals worldwide.

Erwin De Weerdt is a Belgian national fluent in Dutch, French and English and has a solid knowledge of German. An seasoned amateur pianist and addicted to classical music, opera and bel canto, he is passionate about tennis, automobiles, motor sport racing, life style, aviation, travel, photography and cinema
